Dr Bandid Nijathaworn
Before taking up the present position of Deputy Governor (Financial Institutions Stability) in November 2006, with responsibilities for financial policy and Bank supervision, Dr. Bandid Nijathaworn was Deputy Governor for Monetary Stability and from January 2004 his responsibilities included monetary policy, financial markets operation, reserve management, economic research, and the international side of the Bank. Prior to that, he was Assistant Governor and head of Bank of Thailand's Monetary Policy Group, the position he took up after his assignment as the Bank's spokesperson when he headed the Bank's Information and Public relations Group as Assistant Governor.
Dr. Bandid joined the Bank of Thailand in 1992 as Deputy Director of the Economic Research Department. Earlier in his career, he worked at the International Monetary Fund where he joined as an Economist in the IMF's Economist Program. Prior to that, he was Assistant Professor of Economics at Thammasat University, Bangkok.
Dr. Bandid holds a PhD in economics from La trobe University, Australia, where he was awarded a La trobe University Research Scholarship. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Economic Policy and planning from the same university and earned a B.A. (Hons.) in Mathematical Economics from the University of Essex, Colchester, England.

Khun Pichai Chuensuksawadi
Khun Pichai Chuensuksawadi has been Editor-in-Chief of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in Bangkok, Thailand since June 2002 - in overall charge of the Bangkok Post and Post Today newspapers and their websites. Before that, he was Editor of the Bangkok Post, from 1994 until 2002. From 1984 to 1994, he held a number of other positions at the newspaper, including: Perspectives Editor, News Editor (local news), Foreign Affairs reporter, Writer and Copy Editor among others.
During 1993-1994, he was Special Assistant to the Secretary General of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dato' Ajit Singh in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also a Member of the IFRA Asia Committee, Chairman of the Bangkok Post Provident Fund, Chairman of the Bangkok Post Foundation and Vice Chairman of the Phud Hong Leper Foundation. He was a Member of the Press Council of Thailand from 1998 until 2002. |
