Loy Krathong is a truly exquisite event. Under the light of the full moon, Thai people gather at rivers, canals, and lakes across the country to light candles and release handcrafted “krathongs” – floating vessels usually made from woven leaves – to pay their respects to the Water Goddess, let go of negativity, and evoke good fortune for the year ahead. As the silver moonlight reflects on the water’s rippling surface and hundreds of glowing lights drift towards the horizon, this ceremony creates a wonderfully serene and spiritual ambiance.
This November, The Crystal Grill House is inviting couples, families and friends to come together and mark this heartfelt occasion with a culinary experience that blends Thailand’s rich traditions with a global menu of contemporary cuisine in a stunning waterside setting.
Having been warmly welcomed, guests will be invited to come to the riverbank and make a wish as they float their krathong on the Chao Phraya. Diners seated at the elegant alfresco terrace or in a glass-enclosed private dining room will have a front-row seat to the celebrations. Then, they can settle in for an unforgettable evening of world-class cuisine.
A choice of five enticing appetizers includes silky-smooth foie gras, freshly-shucked Fine de Clair oysters, and seared sea scallops, while a selection of six mouth-watering main courses features a trio of double-cut lamb chops, ocean-fresh Patagonian toothfish, and center-cut prime pork chop from Chiang Mai. Meat lovers can also savor succulent Australian steaks, including Southern Ranges grass-fed Black Angus (200g tenderloin or 500g ribeye), Rangers Valley Infinite wagyu (200g striploin), or Black Opal wagyu (300g ribeye), all cooked to perfection on the signature Josper Grill.
