Simon Moran is an Australian business leader with over 35 years' experience building, governing, and scaling complex organisations across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and ASEAN. Based in Thailand since 2001, Simon has developed a deep understanding of the commercial, regulatory, and cultural dynamics shaping the Australian-Thai business environment.

Simon founded and led Motto Auction Thailand, growing the business from a greenfield start­up into a national market leader operating across 13 locations. Under his leadership, the business managed annual auction assets of THB 6-7.8 billion, generated peak revenues of THB 432 million, and employed up to 150 staff. He held full accountability for P&L, balance sheet management, capital investment, and governance, culminating in a successful exit in 2022.

Earlier in his career, Simon held senior leadership roles with Manheim Auctions, part of Cox Automotive USA, supporting operations across 12 international markets and serving on the International Advisory Board representing 15 countries. His experience spans mergers & acquisitions, business integration, technology commercialisation, and multi-market strategy.

Recognised for his strategic judgement, financial discipline, and integrity, Simon brings a governance-focused mindset balanced with practical, hands-on leadership.
