Message From Chamber – April 2025

Jon

Dear Valued AustCham Members,

Firstly, I’d like to thank Donna for inviting me to carry on my role as vice president in the AustCham EXCOM team alongside Joanna and Matt. It’s my third year on the board and it has been a great experience, and I look forward to contributing more to our members, sponsors and the wider Australian community.

April was another busy month for the chamber. We kicked off with our sundowners at the Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit as venue sponsors, and corporate sponsor, Winson Capital. The event included a pre-briefing on navigating tax challenges for expats based here, as well as addressing new challenges related to Trump’s tariffs. We also held multi-chamber events in the eastern seaboard.

May promises to be extremely busy with several exciting events. We’ll have AustCham sundowners at the Crowne Plaza Lumpini, a multi-chamber event in the eastern seaboard with the American Chamber, and our BevChain golf event on May 23rd (sign up now if you haven’t). Additionally, we’re hosting a Next gen event on May 21st, and for our NRL fans, we’re introducing our first State of Origin event on May 28th at the T-Shot Bar, Bangkok Marriott Marquis, Queen’s Park.

A huge thank you to all our members and sponsors. We’re off to a very busy start to the year. The AustCham office is as busy as ever, and following our board retreat on April 21st, we’ve set the board strategy for 2025 and into 2026. It’s shaping up to be an exciting time for the chamber as we work to support our sponsors, members, and the Australian community in Thailand.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Thank you very much,

Jon Cannon
Vice President, AustCham Thailand
