Previous Next Australia has history of cooperation with Thai Third Naval Area Command. On 26 March, H.E. Mr Allan McKinnon PSM, Australian Ambassador to Thailand and Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Beumer, Acting Defence Attaché paid a courtesy call to Vice Admiral Cherngchai Chomcherngpat, Commander of the Third Naval Area Command. The Royal Australian Navy has long history of cooperation with Third Naval Area Command. In recent years, ships have often sailed to Thailand and stopped in Phuket. Australian sailors always enjoy training with Royal Thai Navy sailors and working on community assistance projects. The last visit was in early 2020, when HMAS Parramatta was greeted by Vice Admiral Cherngchai Chomcherngpat during a function onboard.Australia is looking forward to further cooperation with the Royal Thai Navy and to stepping ashore again for social projects once the pandemic is over.
