Previous Next Australia and Thailand are friends and partners in law, justice and countering transnational crime. On 15 March 2021, Ambassador Allan McKinnon paid a courtesy call on Thailand’s Minister of Justice, Mr. Somsak Thepsutin, to discuss our existing cooperation through the ASEAN-Australia Counter-Trafficking (ASEAN-ACT) Initiative, Taskforce Storm and the new the Mekong-Australia Partnership on Transnational Crime. Ambassador McKinnon also had the opportunity to discuss proposed legal reforms under the ‘Ten for Ten’ initiative to promote ease of doing business in Thailand. The meeting between Ambassador McKinnon and Minister Somsak emphasises the importance of the multi-sectoral partnership between our two countries. We look forward to working together ever more closely in the years to come.
