Cyber and critical technology are increasingly areas of focus for Australian-Thai cooperation.   On 22 February 2021, the Australian Embassy in Bangkok was pleased to welcome Thai officials from different agencies to launch the Digital Cyber Bootcamp (DCB). The event will run for the week, and is conducted by the prestigious Australian National University, and funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.   The project aims to build cyber capacity across the full breath of cyber affairs, and to support Indo-Pacific countries to address cyber challenges. Thailand is the second country in the region with whom Australia is holding a DCB. Due to the pandemic, the event is being presented virtually.   Dr Tobias Feakin, Australia’s inaugural Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, and H.E. Mr Allan McKinnon, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, gave welcome remarks to young and energetic officials, urging participants to get to know each other and learn from each other as much as possible, despite being physically distanced.
