Message From Chamber - May 2026
As we approach the middle of 2026, May has once again been a highly active and engaging month for the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all members, sponsors, speakers, and partners who have contributed to the success of our recent events.
Throughout May, AustCham continued to deliver initiatives aligned with our core pillars of Business, Connections, and Community.
On 6 May, AustCham hosted the Members Briefing and Sundowners at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The event provided an excellent platform for members to exchange business insights, strengthen professional relationships, and reconnect with the AustCham community. We would like to sincerely thank Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit for the generous venue support, as well as our corporate sponsor, Nurture Higher Education, for helping make the evening possible.
On 14 May, AustCham organised the Leadership Roundtable: Hunkering Down titled "How SMEs in Thailand Stay Resilient During an Economic Downturn,” presented by Scott Pressimone, Founder of Fractiond. The session delivered valuable perspectives and practical strategies for businesses navigating today’s challenging economic environment. The interactive discussion highlighted the resilience and adaptability of the SME sector, while also encouraging meaningful exchange amongst participating members and business leaders.
AustCham was also pleased to lead the Joint Chambers Phuket Members Briefing on 22 May, focusing on the Phuket Hotel Industry: Market Trends and Outlook 2026–2027. The event brought together industry stakeholders to discuss tourism recovery, market opportunities, and future industry direction in one of Thailand’s most important hospitality destinations. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to JLL, the corporate sponsor of the event, and SAii Laguna Phuket for the generous venue support and warm hospitality.
We concluded the month with a true highlight - the BevChain AustCham Golf Tournament on 29 May at The Vintage Club. This much-anticipated annual event continues to provide a fantastic opportunity for members and partners to connect in a relaxed and enjoyable environment while strengthening the spirit of community that defines AustCham.
Looking ahead to June, AustCham is excited to continue delivering valuable programs and networking opportunities for our members.
On 8 June, we will host the SME Coffee Morning at Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, featuring Buzz Langton from One Create Agency, who will share practical insights on how to build a professional profile and strengthen personal branding.
Then on 10 June, members are invited to join our briefing by Neurologist and Neuropsychologist from Bangkok Hospital, titled “Boost Your Brain, Elevate Your Life: Unlock a Sharper You” at Pullman Bangkok Hotel G on Silom, followed by our much-looked-forward-to Sundowners networking session. We encourage members to reserve their seats early to avoid disappointment.
Our Board of Directors remains committed to creating meaningful initiatives that support our members, foster business growth, encourage valuable connections, and strengthen our broader community. We look forward to organising many more impactful events in the months ahead. Please stay tuned.
Finally, thank you once again to all members, sponsors, speakers, and partners for your continued support and engagement. AustCham exists for the benefit of its members, and together, our community will surely continue to grow stronger and better.
Thank you,

Chokdee Wisansing
Vice President, AustCham Thailand
