1-19 APR - Centara Grand at CentralWorld Unveils ‘Songkran Above Bangkok’ Programme

Running from 1–19 April 2026, the Thai New Year line-up brings together heritage rituals, culinary highlights and rooftop festivities across multiple venues.

Centara Grand at CentralWorld presents Songkran Above Bangkok, a hotel-wide programme marking the Thai New Year with a series of cultural rituals, seasonal dining experiences and rooftop celebrations. The line-up spans multiple venues across the property, offering a considered mix of tradition and contemporary city energy during one of Thailand’s most anticipated festive periods.

At the heart of the programme is the Buddha Bathing Ceremony, held at the Sky Lobby on the 23rd floor from 1–15 April 2026. This meaningful ritual allows participants to gently pour scented water over a Buddha statue, a gesture believed to bring blessings for the year ahead. Alongside this, the Sabai Thai Elegance Experience, available from 9–19 April 2026 at the same venue, allows guests to experience the grace of traditional Thai attire, adding a sense of heritage and occasion to the season.

Culinary traditions are reflected through the Khao Chae Ritual Experience at Ventisi and Tea & Tipple, in collaboration with Banya Thai Restaurant & Home Cooking, a recipient of the MICHELIN Guide award 2019 to 2026, from 9–19 April 2026 at available from 9–19 April 2026 at THB 590++ per set.
Once served in royal courts, this refined summer dish is presented as a seasonal highlight, offering a cooling and intricate expression of Thai flavours.

As the day moves into evening, the rooftop becomes the setting for a series of signature moments. From 11–15 April 2026, the Champagne Bubble Party at CRU Champagne Bar brings a lively atmosphere to the skyline, pairing music with sweeping views of Bangkok at sunset. On 12 April 2026, the Songkran Pool Party at the Pool Deck and Lotus Garden transforms the space into a vibrant temple fair, combining Thai-inspired activities with music, refreshing drinks and panoramic city views.

For a more hands-on cultural element, the Ya Dom Herbal Workshop at Tea & Tipple from 14 April 2026 introduces Thailand’s beloved herbal inhaler tradition through an interactive session, with participants creating their own personalised inhaler.

Spanning ritual, cuisine and celebration, Songkran Above Bangkok presents a well-rounded way to experience the Thai New Year from above the city.
