After-work drinks, Latin rhythms and a special guest shift with a guest bartender from Singapore keep the good times rolling at Bar.Yard
Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok is giving guests even more reasons to head up to Bar.Yard, the hotel's 40th floor rooftop bar. The month of November brings a refreshed daily happy hour, Sip & Sanook, pairing one drink with one bite at THB 350 net, while Latin Thursday spotlights live music, Peruvian-inspired grilled skewers and sangria pitchers, making the case for a new best day of the week. Adding to the month's line-up, award-winning bartender Marlon Aseoche from Singapore's Coolies' Union takes over the bar for a special guest shift on 17 November 2026, celebrating Old Fashioned Week with four Southeast Asian-inspired cocktails.
A FRESH TAKE ON HAPPY HOUR
Bar.Yard's popular happy hour gets a playful update with Sip & Sanook, taking its name from the Thai word for fun. Keeping the same daily hours and price, the new offer now includes one drink and one bite for THB 350 net.
The selection covers house wines, classic cocktails such as the Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martini, and lighter options including the low-ABV Langsuan Blossom. Guests can also try 2 BECOME 1, a new cocktail blending Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin, passion fruit liqueur, cherry wine and sparkling wine. Pair your favourite tipple with a choice of crispy fries, pork empanada or tacos for a satisfying start to the night.
Available daily from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
ON THURSDAYS WE DANCE
Starting November, every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. gets an energy boost from Latin band Siam Cubano, bringing over a decade of experience performing merengue, salsa, bachata and familiar pop hits with a Latin twist to Bar.Yard. A live DJ keeps the music going until late.
To match the atmosphere, the kitchen serves Peruvian-inspired grilled skewers, starting from THB 100++ each, with choices ranging from pork neck, shrimp or chicken, as well as vegetarian skewers. For groups, The Full Fiesta brings together your choice of 20 skewers and a complimentary sangria pitcher for THB 2,000++.
The drinks are just as much part of the fun, with four sangria creations to choose from. Highlights include Fruita Latina, a refreshing blend of rosé wine, berries and watermelon served in a whole watermelon, and Sangria de Fuego, combining red wine, citrus, cinnamon and habanero for a little extra kick. Each pitcher serves three to four guests and is priced at THB 1,800++. A non-alcoholic Horchata is also available at THB 280++ per glass.
COOLIES' UNION BRINGS A LION CITY TWIST TO OLD FASHIONED WEEK
Who says an Old Fashioned cocktail has to taste like Kentucky? Certainly not Marlon Aseoche of Singapore's Coolies' Union, who heads to Bar.Yard to celebrate Old Fashioned Week with his Southeast Asian flair. Located on Duxton Hill, Coolies' Union is a cocktail and wine bar with "Straits soul", drawing on the region's diverse cultures and flavours. Marlon, currently Beverage Consultant for Urban Group and former Lead Mixologist at ANTI:DOTE, Fairmont Singapore, brings his bartending expertise to the 40th floor.
For one night only, Marlon serves four cocktails built on Woodford Reserve bourbon and rye. The Rickshaw Old Fashioned leads with bourbon, banana oleo saccharum, chocolate and pandan aromatic bitters, while Pidgin Sour pairs rye and pisco with Ancho Reyes Verde, green mango cordial, orange bitters and a chilli tincture. Kampong Highball keeps things long and light with bourbon, gula melaka cordial and coconut water, and After Shift closes the night with rye, jackfruit rosso, fino sherry and pandan aromatic bitters.
Expect a Tuesday that feels more like a Friday as Marlon takes over Bar.Yard, serving his creations against Bangkok's skyline with Bar.Yard's resident DJ providing the beats.
