Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok marks the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival with the Kimpton Mooncake 2026 collection, a celebration of artistry, tradition and community. Under the theme “Fire Horse,” this year’s collection reimagines the zodiac through a bold, contemporary lens.
At its heart is a collaboration with Artstory By Autistic Thai, a social enterprise supported by the Autistic Thai Foundation. The original Fire Horse illustration was created by Anusone “Mix” Tunarin, one of Artstory’s many talented artists. The art piece itself carries something far greater than festive beauty. A portion of proceeds from every box sold will be donated to support Artstory By Autistic Thai’s mission and build on the success of our continued collaboration since 2024, which has raised more than THB 200,000 so far.
Artstory By Autistic Thai was founded in 2018 with the mission of helping autistic individuals develop their skills through artistic works and ultimately achieve meaningful employment and steady income. For Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, partnering with Artstory By Autistic Thai is a natural extension of the brand’s belief that hospitality is most powerful when it gives back.
Symbolising passion, speed and momentum, the Fire Horse surges across a radiant canvas of crimson and gold. Mix’s illustration fuses the energy of the zodiac with a design that is simultaneously expressive and refined, transforming a traditional motif into a collectible work of art.
THE KIMPTON SIGNATURE MOONCAKE BOX
The Kimpton Signature Mooncake Box is crafted as a keepsake, designed to be kept long after the last mooncake has been savoured. Shaped in a sculptural horseshoe silhouette, an emblem of fortune, strength and protection, it arrives in a dynamic palette of ember red, metallic gold and deep espresso brown.
The matte leather exterior is elevated by gold foil stamping, debossed detailing and subtle accents that catch the light across the surface. A finished leather belt with button closure fastens the box shut, while the velvet-lined interior elegantly presents the 4 mooncakes. Once the celebration is over, the box is designed to live on, repurposed as a jewellery case, accessory holder or desk piece that carries the energy of the Fire Horse well into the year ahead.
Each Kimpton Signature Mooncake Box contains 4 mooncakes, chosen from a menu of 5 distinct flavours that balance the classic with the unexpected: Durian with Melon Seed & Egg Yolk, Custard, Caramel Latte & Almond, Sesame Chocolate Mochi, Savoury Chicken Floss & Chilli Paste.
Each box of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok's Signature Mooncakes is available for an early-bird pre-order at THB 1,800 net from 1 July – 31 August 2026 and for a regular price at THB 1,888 net per box from 1 – 25 September 2026. Self-pick-up at the hotel is available from 1 August – 25 September 2026.
