1 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP. 3: Focus on Recruitment and Retention

AustCham Thailand held its third episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Focus on Recruitment & Retention! How to attract & retain top talent in the post-COVID era”, with Horton International on Monday 1 June 2020. Gary and Matt highlighted industries that have been most/least affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, what positions are most sought after, and how teams working remotely has affected the workforce.

2 JUN – 2020 Australian Business in ASEAN Survey: Focus on Thailand

On Tuesday 2 June 2020, AustCham Thailand held a review of the 2020 Australian Business in ASEAN Survey at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok. The webinar featured presentations from AustCham Thailand’s President, Benjamin Krieg, and AustCham Thailand and AustCham ASEAN Vice President, Brenton Mauriello, followed by a panel discussion with AustCham members, Yan Xu, President of NS Bluescope Thailand, and Ian Pascoe, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Thailand.

4 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP 4: Focus on Learning and Development

AustCham Thailand held its fourth episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Learning & Development! What does the world of training look like in the post-COVID-19 era? An opportunity to improve ROI?”, with Lee Hecht Harrison and Ra-Kahng Associates on Friday 4 June 2020. Leigh and David presented what training courses will look like in the post-Covid world and what positive influences we can expect to come out of the global disruption we have just experienced.

9 JUN – Advance Australia Council Virtual Meeting with Australian Ambassador, H.E. Allan McKinnon

The Advance Australia Council, comprised of AustCham Thailand, Australian Alumni, ANZWG, Australian International School, TATSC, and the Thailand Tigers Australian Football Club, held a Virtual Meeting with Australian Ambassador, H.E. Allan McKinnon on Tuesday 9 June 2020, 13.00-14.00. The meeting was highlighted by an Australian Embassy update from the Ambassador, and interactive discussion between the Ambassador and Advance Australia Council members sharing experiences on the current situation for Australians in Thailand.

11 JUN – AustCham Thailand Webinar: What’s Next? Insights into how Asian market will look post COVID-19

On Thursday 11 June 2020, AustCham Thailand held a webinar on “What’s next? Insights into how Asian markets will look post COVID-19”, presented by John Evans, Managing Director of Tractus Asia. John provided insights into how Asian markets will look post COVID-19, with analysis of who are the winners, losers, and those left in the middle, and what strategic questions those companies will need to ask in order to re-engineer the way they do business to survive.

12 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP.5: Focus on Remote Internship

AustCham Thailand held its fifth episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Focus on Remote Internships! The Benefits of Remote Interns from Australian Universities for your company”, with Asiania Consulting, The Global Student, and UNSW Business School on Friday 12 June 2020. We learned that while traveling to Thailand is not an option for interns from Australian universities this year, there is still an opportunity for the students to gain a cultural experience by working remotely with companies in Thailand, and with the host companies receiving the same benefits of having fresh, eager eyes working on projects.

15 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP.6: Focus on Hotels

AustCham Thailand held its sixth episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Focus on Hotels! A review of Anantara‘s “Staying with Peace of Mind”, ready to welcome you back!”, with Gold Sponsor Minor International and Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel on Monday 15 June 2020. Daniel proudly talked about the “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports – the first Minor hotel in Thailand to be awarded one – and what measures hotel management is taking, as they remain committed to the highest health and safety standards.

17 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP 7: Focus on Survival

AustCham Thailand held its seventh episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Focus on Survival! Adapting your business model during the COVID-19 pandemic”, with FORE Management Group and Fenix XCell on Wednesday 17 June 2020. Chris and Michael discussed how they were able to adapt their business models to survive and thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic.

18 JUN – AustCham Thailand Virtual Meeting on Agility in the face of adversity – A Women’s perspective

AustCham Virtual Meeting: Agility in the Face of Adversity was held on Thursday 18 June 2020 with speakers from our Women in Leadership committee sharing experiences of their individual leadership journeys, and the challenges and obstacles they are facing and conquering during the COVID crisis.

19 JUN – AustCham Member Focus Series EP.8: Focus on Communications

AustCham Thailand held its eighth episode of the AustCham Member Focus Series on “Focus on Communications! AustCham’s new website launch and communications strategies in changing business environment”, with Lexicon Business Communications on Friday 19 June 2020. Max took us through AustCham’s exciting new website features and functionality, while David discussed communications strategies and the importance of storytelling in this constantly changing business environment.
