About AustCham:

The Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) is a dynamic business Chamber dedicated to promoting our members’ businesses and fostering the Australian-Thai bilateral trade and investment relationship through our values of Business, Connections, and community. 

About the Role:

The Executive Director is responsible for AustCham’s overall management and operations, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This pivotal role demands a visionary leader with extensive experience in government liaison, stakeholder management, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will drive AustCham’s mission forward, enhancing its profile, fostering strategic partnerships, and spearheading initiatives to elevate the Chamber’s impact and influence.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

1. Strategy, Governance, and Management:

  • Define and implement AustCham’s business strategy in alignment with the Board’s directives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Board meetings and special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with constitutional By-Laws and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee all lease, purchase, and contract negotiations.

 

2. Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with members, sponsors, government bodies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent AustCham at local and international events, fostering positive relations and strategic alliances.
  • Coordinate Chamber representation in legislative engagements and advocacy efforts.

 

3. Sponsorship and Funding:

  • Understand sponsor expectations and deliver exceptional value.
  • Develop strategies to secure sponsorship for Chamber events and initiatives.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and prepare grant submissions.

 

4. Chamber Profile and Communications:

  • Oversee all marketing and communications activities, ensuring alignment with AustCham’s brand image.
  • Contribute articles to Advance Magazine and other publications.
  • Develop innovative strategies to enhance AustCham’s visibility and relevance in the business community.

 

5. Membership Management:

  • Promote AustCham membership benefits and drive member acquisition.
  • Facilitate new member onboarding and nurture existing member relationships.
  • Analyze member feedback to enhance satisfaction and value propositions.

 

6. Event Management:

  • Attend and oversee Chamber events, ensuring seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with event management teams to achieve financial and engagement targets.

 

7. Financial Management:

  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Implement strategies to achieve revenue growth and expense optimization.
  • Ensure financial transparency and accountability across all Chamber activities.

 

8. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

  • Collaborate with the CSR committee to review and enhance AustCham’s CSR initiatives.
  • Represent AustCham at CSR events and activities, promoting community engagement.

 

9. Office Environment:

  • Provide leadership to a dynamic team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
  • Ensure timely response to all inquiries and maintain operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in business management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in government liaison, community outreach, and fundraising.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgetary management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite plus website management tools.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a passion for driving organizational growth and excellence.
