Important update on travel restrictions regarding COVID-19

While we know that many of you have been making every effort possible to return home, options to fly out of Thailand to Australia are becoming extremely limited. Please contact airlines directly to discuss your options.

If you can’t leave or don’t want to leave Thailand, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Please also contact us at [email protected] to provide us with your full name, passport details, and an email address and contactable phone number. We will take your details to register that you are still in Thailand.

The Australian Embassy is working hard to determine what options exist to return people to Australia and we will advise of any progress as soon as possible.

For Australians concerned about their visa situation, in the first instance please engage with Thai Immigration to determine your options to extend your visa, 02 141 98 89. Some visa categories can be extended without Embassy assistance and we would ask that you discuss this with Thai Immigration before seeking further assistance.

Please read our advice on Smartraveller and subscribe for updates to the Thailand travel advice. If you need urgent consular assistance call +61 2 6261 3305
