Message From Chamber – July 2020

Brendan 1

“Dear Austcham Members and Friends,

Greetings from your Chamber! As we move steadily into the second half of the year, we are seeing more positive messages coming from our members in terms of business getting back on track. There is still a very long road ahead, but it’s good to see AustCham members on the front foot and looking for ways to innovate and create new business opportunities.

An important part AustCham has played in assisting members in the virtual world has been through sharing stories via webinars and online meetings, and this will continue even as we return to the physical event space. If you have missed or would like to revisit any of our webinars, recordings can be found in our Resources page.

I’m sure I speak for all members in saying we’re glad to be able to meet in person again, with AustCham holding its first event since March, with the ESB Sundowners and Business Briefing. It was a great opportunity for our Eastern Seaboard members to gather and for Bangkok members to getaway for the weekend.

We hold our return Bangkok Sundowners on Wednesday 5th August at Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20, and have already sold out for this event. With COVID-19 restrictions we are limited in capacity, and we encourage all members to book early for these events to avoid disappointment.

Prior to Sundowners, we welcome speakers from Bluescope, ANZ Bank, CBRE, and 1D Property, to discuss “Post-Covid Recovery for the Thailand Building & Construction Industry” at our monthly Member Briefing.

Other events coming up are the Alumni / Women in Leadership: Finding your Personal Brand on Tuesday 11 August and BevChain Golf Tournament on Friday 11 September, mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you there! Plus an announcement will be sent out soon about our return Phuket Sundowners on Friday 18 September and the AFL Grand Final.

Finally, in our Member Corner, we are delighted to welcome six new members to the Chamber, and look forward to working with them on business and professional growth. We also feature articles on Human Resources Development from our members below – if you would like to contribute to our Thought Leadership blog, please reach out to us!

Wishing you a successful month of August ahead!”
