Message From Chamber – July 2021

Chris Mc

“Dear Austcham Members and Friends,

It’s a pleasure to be writing to you in my first month as President, I would first like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of Benjamin Krieg in presiding over the Chamber in very challenges times and secondly thank the board for their vote of confidence in my election.

The direction of the board has not wavered and we continue to work closely with the with Australian Embassy and Foreign Chamber Alliance (FCA) to ensure the best support is available to our sponsors, members, and friends at this time.

Unfortunately the COVID-19 cases continue to rise accompanied by strict government restrictions. We understand the impact this has on our member businesses and hope the situation improves sooner than later but I can assure you that the board and AustCham team are committed to providing assistance were possible and looking for ways to provide value for your continued support of the chamber. Some of these initiatives are outlined below.

On behalf of AustCham, I would like to thank the Board of Trade Thailand / Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Australian Embassy Thailand for providing quotas to AustCham members to receive the first dose of the vaccination. It was good that so many of our members were able to register but we are also aware that many missed this opportunity. If you have any questions regarding restrictions or vaccinations, I encourage you to contact our Executive Director, Brendan: [email protected]. A reminder that our COVID-19 Updates web page is a reliable source to inform you what is happening with government announcements affecting business.

It appears unlikely that we will hold physical events in August and will continue with regular webinars and online meetings, which is a great opportunity for our members to keep updated on relevant stories in the Australian-Thai business community. If you have missed any sessions, a reminder all webinars can be seen in full on our Resources page of the website and highlights on our Youtube page.  We try to keep members updated across a wide range of topics, so if you have any ideas of other topics we could be covering, please let us know. If it’s beneficial for our members, we will endeavor to make it happen.

Our new episode of AustCham TV: Business, Connections, Community features two major initiatives driven by the Chamber at this time – launch of AustCham Inclusion and Diversity Statement and the COVID-19 CARE Packages program. We hope our members in general will get behind these initiatives, as we aim to make the community a better place.

We hope you, your teams and all families are all coping during these difficult times, and please do not hesitate to reach out us if you need any assistance, have ideas, or just need a chat.

Stay safe and healthy”
