Message From Chamber – November 2023

Jon Cannon

“Season's greetings to our AustCham members and friends!

As we conclude an outstanding month of November, which kicked off at The Avani Sukhumvit with a fantastic event alongside our sponsors ATFX, we had a series of successful engagements. These included the SME subcommittee coffee morning, a leadership dinner with Ambassador Dr. Angela McDonald, Khun Wallapa from AWC, and Sally O’Hara, the former AustCham director and CEO of Krungthai-AXA Life. We also had the CEO unplugged event, followed by the Multi Chamber event in Pattaya. To wrap things up, we enjoyed a great day at the Thana City Golf course with our sponsors and passionate Chamber supporters, BevChain. Unfortunately, my golf skills were not as impressive as the day itself!

As a director of AustCham, I take immense pride in witnessing a fully packed calendar featuring high-quality and engaging events, and there’s more to come! My fellow directors and subcommittees have exciting plans for the upcoming months. If you’d like to join any of the subcommittees, please feel free to reach out to Sam and the AustCham team, or even one of the directors. We are always delighted to see our AustCham community come together to support fellow members. After all, it is this sense of community that makes AustCham unique.

Looking ahead to the year-end, we can reflect on the challenges we faced throughout the year – economic headwinds, global and regional instability. However, the unwavering support from our membership clearly demonstrates the strength of the AustCham community. It is through networking and helping one another that we can grow and foster our relationships and business interests across Thailand. AustCham continues to be one of the strongest and most widely supported Chambers in the country.

I would like to wish you all a joyful and festive season. Additionally, I wanted to highlight the efforts of our CSR committee lead by Saj Iqbal. They are working towards assisting more disadvantaged children in our major hubs. Please consider visiting our donation page, where even a contribution as small as 500THB can bring a smile to a child in need and support the organization dedicated to their well-being, https://www.austchamthailand.com/about/csr/austchams-care-package/
