Message From Chamber – November 2024

Jon Cannon

Dear AustCham Members,

Greetings from AustCham Thailand!

It’s hard to believe that we’re already hearing the jingle bells and Christmas trees are up, and we haven’t even hit December yet. That’s how fast the year has gone!

November again has been an action-packed month as we kicked off with the BevChain 2024 Golf event, with great feedback from all those who played. A new course for us to all pit our wits against; as usual, I was donating balls all across the course to the many lakes. But that aside, it was a great day and a fun evening with money being raised for our CSR events. Big thanks to the AustCham team, board Members Simon and Mike for their support, but the day couldn’t go ahead without BevChain’s unwavering support for this event.

A fantastic Sundowners at the Marriott Marquis with a pre-briefing on sustainability development in business was well attended, a reminder to us all that ESG is becoming a bigger focus year on year for all industries our members are involved in. A big thanks to Simon and the Marriott Marquis team for a stellar event; the outdoor space is always a winner. And big thanks to our event sponsor NS BlueScope.

With still a few more events to go, we were in Phuket for the Joint Chamber event at the Courtyard Marriott with Nature Education holding a pre-briefing on “Crafting Tomorrow’s Hospitality” with a great panel event, a big focus in Phuket where hospitality is one of the main incomes on the island.

As I write this, we have one more event to go, with the Kingsgate & Akara Resources Chatree Gold Mine, a visit not to be missed!

Then it’s the festive season, where hopefully we will see you all at the Australian Embassy for the Year End Sundowners. If you haven’t registered yet, please do; numbers are filling up fast!

Season’s greetings to you all,

Season’s greetings to you all,

Jon Canon
