Bangkok Patana School – The IB Art Programme at Bangkok Patana School

Bangkok Patana School is proud to present this video, detailing the creation of pre-IB art pieces throughout the COVID pandemic. Further detail, from our Visual Arts Faculty teachers, is below:

The Visual Arts department is delighted to share with you a video of our talented Year 13 students in action, preparing for their Pre-IB show and talking about their experiences.

The IB Visual Arts places great emphasis on communication, engaging with local art practice and interacting with art in a broader sense, all activities which have been limited or difficult to pursue over the past two years of the course. Throughout this learning journey, students have explored new media, created studio environments in their homes or found new ways to safely interact with the wider art community.

This student group has done an amazing job at overcoming the challenges that lockdowns, travel restrictions and unusual working conditions have thrown at them and have responded with resilience and ingenuity. This video shows the remarkable maturity with which the two classes were able to adapt to their changing environment and engage with the bigger picture.

We are very proud of the resilience and the enthusiasm of the 2022 Visual Arts cohort, who are currently preparing for their Final Show which will open March 23rd. Stay tuned for the next instalment!
