- Early detection is the key. Cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable forms of cancer, as long as it is detected early and managed effectively
- Cervical cancer screening with Pap and/or human papillomavirus (HPV) tests is recommended starting between the ages of 21 and 25 years
- HPV vaccine is safe. Males and females ages 9 to 45 can get the HPV vaccine
- All boys and girls should get the HPV vaccine between the ages of 11 and 12 for best protection
