Light Up Your Loy Krathong Festival at The Siam Tea Room, Asiatique The Riverfront

The Siam Tea Room, the elegant waterside Thai dining destination at Asiatique The Riverfront, is inviting local residents and international visitors to experience the magic of the Loy Krathong festival with an enchanting evening of Thai culture and cuisine on the Chao Phraya River.

Loy Krathong is a truly exquisite festival. Every November, under the light of the full moon, Thai people flock to waterways across the country to light candles and release their handcrafted krathongs – floating vessels usually made from banana leaves, tropical flowers and incense sticks – creating a wonderfully spiritual ambiance.

To mark this occasion, The Siam Tea Room will host its “Loy Krathong Festival Feast” – an upbeat evening that includes an enticing array of traditional Thai delicacies, live stations, classical Thai music, authentic Ayutthaya-style decorations, and of course, an eco-friendly and biodegradable krathong per reservation to release into the river.

Local dishes cooked at live stations will include chargrilled river prawns with lemongrass and lime & chili sauce, boat noodles from Ayutthaya, Thai style Australian wagyu beef bisket, hor mok yang (fish cakes wrapped in banana leaves), papaya salad with grilled chicken, tom yum soup, pad Thai (stir-fried Chanthaburi rice noodles with prawns and duck egg) and more. Every evening can end on a sweet note with traditional desserts such as roti saimai (handmade rotis in cotton candy), coconut milk ice cream with a wide range of accompaniments, fresh tropical fruits and other tempting treats.

Staged on 27th November 2023 (17.30 – 22.30 hrs), the Loy Krathong Festival Feast will be served in a stunning waterside setting at The Siam Tea Room. Inspired by the country’s cultural heritage, this refined Thai restaurant and bakery is set in an elegant two-story wooden building with indoor and alfresco seating areas, a private dining room and views of the “River of Kings.”

This enchanting evening is priced at just THB 3,295 net per person and THB 1,650 net per kid (from 5-12 years old), including free-flow soft drinks and a complimentary krathong per reseravation.

The Siam Tea Room at Asiatique is easily accessible by road and river, including shuttle boat services from the pier next to Saphan Taksin BTS skytrain station.
