Do you crave the comforting flavors of home-cooked food, just like your mom used to make? Siam Tea Room, the casual café and authentic Thai eatery at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, is reviving the spirit of family dining with Baan Ratchaburi, an exciting new menu that showcases traditional Thai dishes from a bygone era.
Chef Phukvarun Watchmon, the talented Thai sous chef at Siam Tea Room, has recreated six delicious dishes that remind her of her childhood. These family recipes are lovingly prepared using market-fresh ingredients, local herbs and her mom’s own recipe curry paste, then beautifully presented in line with modern restaurant standards.
This mouth-watering menu comprises a series of sublime seafood recipes, including fried stuffed squid with minced pork, crispy garlic and coriander; spicy & sour glass noodle salad with prawns, squid, minced pork, dried shrimps and roasted peanuts; and deep-fried sea bass with bird’s eye chili, garlic, spring onion and coriander. Diners can also savor a rich red curry beef soup with yellow eggplant, turkey berries and hot basil, a fluffy omelet stuffed with minced pork, tomato and onion; or stir-fried eggplant with minced pork and salted fish.
Chef Phukvarun is deeply passionate about Thailand’s culinary heritage. Having learned to cook in her family home in Ratchaburi province, her creations are always lovingly prepared and beautifully presented.
The Baan Ratchaburi menu is available from 1 June to 31 July 2021 at Siam Tea Room.
Dishes start from only THB 235++.
