Phuket, Thailand — August, 2025 — Takieng has introduced three chef-curated set menus—Jasmine, Orchid, and Mai Khao Signature—designed to showcase authentic Southern Thai character alongside beloved Thai classics from beyond the South. Each set is crafted with hand-picked local ingredients and highlights select island specialties that are rarely seen off Phuket.
The name “Takieng” means lantern, a nod to the lights that once guided local fishing boats. That connection to coast and craft still informs the kitchen today.
The Three Sets
Orchid – THB 1,850++
Zesty soft-shell crab with lychee, rustic tom sab (beef cheek, Thai herbs), silky green curry chicken, and crisp morning glory. Dessert: bi koh moy—black sticky rice with coconut milk and sesame ice cream.
Jasmin – THB 2,260++
Clear tom yum goong, homestyle moo hong (Phuket braised pork), market greens, and a classic mango sticky rice finish. Essential flavors, precisely made.
Mai Khao Signature – THB 2,900++
Crisp goong hom sabai and pomelo with crispy sea bass set the tone, followed by red curry with roasted duck and the showpiece pla kapong miang kham (whole fried Andaman sea bass with betel leaf and tamarind). Local pak lin harn greens and a Phuket-inspired sweet close the meal.
