    “Floral Afternoon Tea” at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok


    The delightful institution of afternoon tea at The Bakery, The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel Bangkok’s chic Thai-French patisserie, is a kaleidoscopic floral affair replete with remarkable flavours and textures throughout August and September.

    The Bakery’s passionate patissiers, inspired by Chef Anupong, have directly sourced from the Royal Project an exquisite selection of brightly coloured edible flowers with which to garnish each of the new menu’s sweet and savoury dainties.  All of which go perfectly with piping hot pots of the likes of Blooming Tea Ball.

    Most significantly, the signature scones, flavoured with macadamia and thickly spread with chocolate rosella, are decorated with delicate cymbidium flowers.

    Savouries range: Open tom yum soda roll with salmon orange and edible flower; Butterfly pea cream cheese & roasted capsicum sandwich; and Grilled shrimp with coral vine quinoa salad in tartlet.

    And the pièce de resistance dessert array offers: Strawberry rose & Morello cherry cream in crumble choux; Lavender pavlova with granny smith mascarpone; Philo millefeuille with lotus mousse & apricot cremeux; Lime curd, jasmine white chocolate tart with lychee dome; Coconut sable, pear & elderflower Normandy, lemon gel; and Pink lemonade and rose petal praline.

    All served every day between the hours of 02:00 P.M. and 05:00 P.M.

    Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse welcomes the season of French black truffle with a scrumptious black truffle set menu which is offered throughout August. The set menu gets its kicks from France’s black truffles that have been carefully sourced for use in contemporary Chinese delights lovingly created by Chef Bruce Hui, the Chinese head chef at Yào Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, Bangkok’s first rooftop Chinese restaurant.

    Perched on the 32nd floor of Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, Yào Restaurant & Rooftop Bar showcases elegant Chinese vintage décor with a cool metropolitan sophistication.

    August is a time when black truffle is in season. Chef Bruce Hui has sourced the finest of this rare, much-prized fungus of France to whip up contemporary Chinese creations for a special black truffle set menu titled “Black Truffle Temptation”. Chef Bruce Hui’s scrumptious black truffle menu is a veritable culinary marvel inspired by Shanghai’s local delicacies that have been slightly adapted with a classy modern twist. The set menu has 5 courses.

    The set meal opens with an appetizer of “Deep-fried Taraba with Black Truffle, Five Spice Salty and Szechuan Pickle with Edamame”. The second course is delightful dim sum: “Pan-fried Pork Dumpling with Truffle”. Then warm up the stomach with a black truffle soup: “Double-boiled Pigeon with Truffle Soup”.

    The main course consists of two dishes: “Braised Australian baby abalone and truffle with oyster sauce” and “Wok-fried White Asparagus with Truffle and Dried Scallop”.

    Wrap up the hearty meal with a dessert of “Chilled Coconut Sago Mango and Cantaloupe”.

    Tantalize your taste buds with the priceless black truffle from France in the “Black Truffle Temptation” set menu promotion.
