Dear AustCham Thailand Members,

Please see above the prominent coverage (page one and lead story online) in the Australian Financial Review today highlighting the punishing impact of the proposed Capital Gains Tax on the family home of those living and working offshore.

If these changes affect you, AustCham Thailand encourages you to write to the new Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, with the attached letter template.  This change affects Australians who sell their family home while offshore – and worse,  if one should die while resident overseas, the family home will be subject to CGT.

Please feel free to send to me and I will forward on to the Treasurer on behalf of AustCham.

Best Regards,
Brendan Cunningham
Executive Director
