Message From Chamber – March 2021

Brendan 1

“Dear Austcham Members and Friends,

“As we move into April, we look forward to the Songkran holidays and being able to travel domestically; a luxury we didn’t have this time last year. For best options on what to do, remember to check out your fellow member promotions first: click here.

April also sees us return to Kanchanaburi for the ANZAC Day Tour on 24-25 April 2021, and while there unfortunately won’t be any official services again this year, members of the Australian and New Zealand communities will be traveling to Hellfire Pass to lay wreaths in honour of our service men and women.

In March, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elected our Board of Directors for 2021-22 – congratulations to all elected. The Board is elected by the members to represent members’ interests, so please feel free to reach out to any Board member if you have any ideas to share with the Chamber.

We also launched our inaugural Walk The Talk mentoring program on International Women’s Day, which was a resounding success. Keep an eye on future Walk The Talk events in Bangkok, ESB and Phuket.

In business news, our President re-elect, Benjamin Krieg, has been busy attending meetings with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and Foreign Chamber Alliance (FCA), with plans to discuss with our fellow Chambers how to provide access to vaccinations for our member companies.

On the topic of vaccinations, we welcome doctors from Gold Sponsor – Bangkok Hospital – on 7 April to provide an update on COVID-19 vaccines, to be held prior to Songkran Sundowners at the Carlton Hotel.

And our major community event of the year – The Great Australian Bash sponsored by Linfox – is back on with the new schedule on Saturday 29 May. Start planning your character now!

We are also excited to welcome 8 new members this month and look forward to engaging them in our business community.

Finally, remember to keep an eye out for the new episode of AustCham TV: Business, Connections, Community later this month.

Wishing you a successful month ahead!”
