Message From Chamber – October 2020

Brendan 1

“Dear Austcham Members and Friends,

“Greetings from your Chamber! As we approach the end of  what has been a tumultuous year, the message from your chamber is that we are still working hard to support our members. On top of our events and meetings, we’ve had an increased level of member engagement in 2020, and we’re working hard to serve our members’ requests. Please give us a shout if you need our support.

Our feature story to report this month is the launch of the “Ten for Ten”, an Op Ed by the four Ambassadors and four heads of the Foreign Chamber Alliance (FCA) in Thailand. We have proposed Ten Steps for Thailand that would see it crack the Top Ten in the world bank’s global Ease of Doing Business Index. Good for the Thailand’s COVID-19 economic recovery, good for foreign business. Win-win.

You can read more here:  “Turbocharging Thailand’s post-COVID economic recovery – improving the ease of doing businesses”.

In October, we held two of our major events for the year in the AFL Grand Final Family Day and Business Cocktail Reception for sponsors, as well as our monthly Sundowners and Member Briefing, webinars and a manufacturing meeting at the Eastern Seaboard: Chamber Business News.

Looking forward to November, we welcome Amanda Oldridge from Linfox on the topic of “Linfox’s Got Talent!”” at our monthly Member Briefing, held prior to November Sundowners at the ever SO popular SO/ Bangkok. We return to Phuket for a Sundowners on Friday 13 November at Angsana Laguna Phuket, and will host our Small Business & Entrepreneur (SB&E) Showcase on Wednesday 18 November at Glowfish Sathorn. And don’t for get for the golfers, we still have the FCA Charitee Friendship Golf Tournament and TAT Super Series @Pattaya to come in November.

Finally, in our Member Corner, we are delighted to welcome 12 new members to the Chamber, and look forward to working with them on business and professional growth. We also continue to feature articles from our members below – if you would like to contribute to our Thought Leadership blog, please reach out to us!

Wishing you a successful month of November ahead!”
